The feathery light green super soft needle like leaves of this tropical fern resemble Fox Tails or even Pony Tails with their thick hair-like stiffly upright branches. A truly unique plant that provides textural contrast to the garden, often placed as a whimsical feature to a patio pot, a hanging basket, within in the border garden, or simply behind a flowering ground cover. Develops red non edible ornamental berries in autumn, without the highly invasive tendencies of traditional asparagus fern. Grows in full sun or partial shade in well drained soil, with a mature size of 2-3 ft. tall by 3-4 ft. W. Hardy only in the warmer climates of USDA Plant Zones 9-11, in all other areas the plant can be grown as an annual and replaced each year, or grow as a houseplant where it is protected from temperatures below 65 deg F.

Develops eye catching red non edible ornamental berries in fall season

Excellent choice for hanging baskets and other container patio plantings

Semi evergreen in mild winter climates, overwinter indoors in all other zones

Used as greenery in floral arrangements where it stays fresh for 2-3 weeks

All plant parts including flowers and berries are toxic to pets and humans

Easy to grow, tough, low maintenance, no major pests or diseases

Ships in a 10 in. tall and wide black nursery pot and the plant itself is on average approximately 12 in. tall

Outdoor hardy only in USDA plant zones 9 to 11, it is not recommended to grow this plant outdoors in cooler climates

Accommodate mature size or when planting in groups, space 3 ft. away from other plants or structures

Thrives in average garden soil in a partially shaded location
